Help! I Want to View My Handheld Animations on a Computer! How To Tips for You
PDB Explorer Allows the viewing of Palm OS .pdb files and saving images into a .bmp format. In this step the information from the .pdb Palm OS file will be extracted and saved as a graphic format. The number of files generated corresponds to the number of frames that were created in the handheld software Animate Me! or Sketcher.
Extracting Files and Saving to the Computer

Open PDB Explorer and from the File Menu select Open. Locate the .pdb file from the Palm Desktop <user> Backup Folder.

The individual frames from an Animate Me! animation will show up as separate Digital Ink. To view the graphic click on Digital Ink and a window will open with the frame graphic. Each frame will need to be saved. Click the Save icon to extract this image and save it as a .bmp format.

Note: PDB Explorer does not allow all of the files to be saved at once to .bmp files. Each frame must be opened and this process followed.

Be sure to save the frames with a unique file name. A number system is always good because it helps when the animation is created. Use zero before numbers so that they alpha sort in order. Locate the folder created earlier in the animation folder to save each .bmp file.

When all files have been extracted using PDB Explorer and saved the folder may look something like this. The next step will be to take all the .bmp files and compress them into one .gif file creating an animation.
